According to the 2nd Reading today, you belong to Christ.
One of the definitions of belong is to be properly or appropriately placed. God has a specific purpose for you. Do you know what that purpose is? When was the last time you really asked God what your purpose is? I don’t care how young or old you are, we all need to be asking God where He wants us to be. Although the world will tell you that everything is random-from our DNA to how the earth was formed, the Church teaches us (and rightly so), that it isn’t random. God isn’t random. God is purposeful.
Another definition of belong is to have the proper qualifications to be a member of a group. As a member of the Body of Christ, God has made you qualified to spread the Gospel.
So, a few questions for you to ask God and reflect on it:
What is God calling me to do? Where is God calling me to be?
What gifts has God given me? How am I to use these gifts to spread His word?
If more of us Confirmed Catholics sincerely did this, the world would be radically different (and better). There would be more selfless people. More people who loved better, forgave more, who hated less, and served often.
So what are you waiting for?
